John Shaw, the man behind JWS Marine Services, completed his apprenticeship in classic wooden boatbuilding at McGruers Boatyard in Scotland and continued to complete his training in wooden boat work.

He has over 21 years experience in the marine industry and uniquely combines traditional boatbuilding methods with the latest technology and materials to produce excellent results. John is also a keen sailor and spends his spare time rescuing mariners in distress as part of the local lifeboat crew. Although the company’s staff and premises have grown in recent years the atmosphere of a small, friendly company has remained. Based at Southsea Marina & Port Solent Marina we offer a 2000 sq.ft workshop able to accommodate up to 40’ boats.
John and the crew are happy to share their expertise at anytime of the day and never tire of chatting about boats! |
